Icod de los Vinos is a charming municipality located on the beautiful island of Tenerife. This picturesque place is home to a number of sites of interest that attract visitors from all over the world.
The Millennial Dragon Tree
We start with the symbol of Icod, the majestic Drago Milenario. This iconic tree, considered one of the oldest living things in the world, is a must-see for all visitors to Icod de los Vinos. The Drago is more than 16 meters high and is estimated to be about 800 years old.
This fantastic park is located a few meters from Urbanización Icod.
The Wind Cave
Another natural point of interest in Icod de los Vinos is La Cueva del Viento, one of the largest volcanic tube systems in the world. Guided tours will allow you to discover this fascinating subway environment and learn about the volcanic geology of the island.
St. Mark's Church
In the heart of Icod is the Church of San Marcos, a beautiful building from the XVI century. Its frescoes and magnificent main altar, along with its beautiful courtyard, make this place a point of historical and artistic interest.
San Marcos Beach
A few kilometers from the center of Icod, you will find the quiet Playa de San Marcos. This beach, protected by cliffs and with black volcanic sand, is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Tenerife.
Paseo de La Centinela and Garachico Viewpoint

Teide National Park
About 50 km from Icod, you cannot miss the impressive Teide National Park. This park, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is home to Spain’s highest peak, Mount Teide. The beauty of its volcanic landscapes and its rich biodiversity make this place a point of unparalleled natural interest.
La Orotava and its Historic Center
We suggest a visit to La Orotava, famous for its historic center. Its cobblestone streets and colonial houses will take you back to the time of the Spanish conquest. Do not forget to visit the Church of the Conception and the gardens of the Marquisate of La Quinta Roja.
Teno Point
Let’s talk now about Punta de Teno, the westernmost point of the island of Tenerife. This stunning location offers spectacular views of the ocean and the impressive cliffs of Los Gigantes. It is also one of the best places to enjoy the sunset on the island. Also from here you can go kayaking under the cliffs of the giants.
The Giants
Speaking of Los Gigantes, these cliffs, which rise up to 600 meters above sea level, are one of Tenerife’s most impressive natural wonders. You can enjoy the view from the port of the city of Los Gigantes or take a boat to see them from the ocean.
LAKE MARTIANEZ
Finally, we add Lago Martiánez to our list. This complex of seawater pools, located in Puerto de la Cruz, is the work of the famous Canarian architect César Manrique. With its swimming pools, gardens, terraces and restaurants, Lago Martiánez is the perfect place to spend a relaxing day under the Tenerife sun.
